New York, New York, (September 3, 2013) – The Miss America Organization and Miss America Properties, announced that Pink & Pepper shoes will become the official fashion footwear sponsor of the 2014 Miss America Program. The year-long sponsorship kicks-off with an exciting week of competition events and the iconic return of the SHOW US YOUR SHOES parade to the famed Atlantic City Boardwalk culminating on September 15th at 9:00 PM /EST with the live ABC broadcast of the 2014 Miss America Competition from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

“The Miss America Organization represents some of the most impressive, intelligent, savvy, fashionable and modern young women in our country, and as a long-time supporter of the Miss America ideals and the scholarship program, Pink & Pepper is excited and honored to support the program and the return of the Show Us Your Shoes Parade to Atlantic City” said Karen Berend, EVP of Sales & Product Development for Pink & Pepper.

In September of 1921, the locals and tourists of Atlantic City, New Jersey witnessed a spectacle that would mark the beginning of an annual tradition for the entire nation. Over the years, an incredible amount of people from across the country began to flock to the Atlantic City boardwalk to witness what became known as the Miss America SHOW US YOUR SHOES parade and the ultimate crowning of a newly titled Miss America. Each year, the crowd would enjoy the sights of the floats and the notable celebrities who presented the Parade as Grand Marshalls throughout history including the iconic Marilyn Monroe. The women would wear long gowns hiding their feet as crowds would call out “Show us your shoes!” Each of the 53 contestants from across the United States, including the District of Columbia, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico decorate their footwear with outrageous and ornate designs as part of a costume showcasing and celebrating their home state.

Miss America will be provided Pink & Pepper styles for all occasions throughout her year as she travels the country and Pink & Pepper footwear will be showcased during certain segments of the telecast.
